Who doesn't love...

Bali? .

..Home to miles of sandy beaches,

stunning rice terraces, towering active volcanoes ,

fast flowing rivers, deep ravines...

pristine and cool crater lakes, sacred caves, and lush tropical forests full of exotic wildlife.

I relax just thinking about it...ahhh

I Love Balinese architecture...Often sacred and rife with meaning.

organic statements in complete harmony with the environment.

Homes made of volcanic rock and red brick

and roofed with sugar palm fiber

There is a building principle of Kosala-kosali where local architects determine the optimal placement and position for certain rooms of the building.

Often when a family is suffering bad luck or misfortune,

the first place the local witch doctor will look for is any unsuspecting violations of the Balinese laws of building.

I see, says the grasshopper

Often homes mimic and blend in with their beautiful surroundings.

Windows...glassless open to the tropical flora

rather than using glass...

carved coconut wood closes them for the night

I love the embedded pebbles in the floor...

The residences often open onto gorgeous green landscapes,

majestic mountains, or beautiful coastlines...

the homes ooze relaxing, meditative vibes
