“Pin-up girls in present-day,” was the theme for G.V.G.V.’s latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Covering the top looks for the coming year’s sunny seasons, the label’s founder and designer MUG included the 50s pinup, a bit of ‘burb housewife, and some Miami tropics into a look that’s 100 percent put together.
The fresh colors and feminine cuts also came with some complementary collaborations, all from the label’s motherland of Japan. Buttery loft bustiers and pleated leather jackets were crafted together with Japanese cult leather label Blackmeans, the pop-out soft cat eye shades were created by Sumio Yamamoto, who has been producing eyewear in the Sabe, Fukui area for 55 years, and even a trio of matching nail polish created by Knock Out Cosmetics. Paired with the runway’s pastel flatforms, this Spring/Summer collection has definitely got you covered from head to toe.
