Side street in Malmö Sweden
A small side street in Malmö Sweden. The old parts of the city are just beautiful, and a treat to explore!
Taken with the cheapest Nikon point and shoot camera we could find last year, the Nikon Coolpix L21. Not bad considering it only cost about US$50! That's less than taking my family to eat out at a cheap restaurant... ;-)

Yesterday. . ."A No Good Horrible Very Bad Day"
This was me yesterday, holding my face, bad hair, looking at food but unable to eat, aching. I woke up in the night with a terrible toothache so first thing yesterday morning I headed straight for my wonderful dentist's office. Our dentist has cared for our teeth for more than 30 years. His office is in an old farmhouse shaded by pecan trees, in a small town thirty-five miles south of Atlanta.
When I got to the dentist office, there were x-rays, lots of poking, and plenty of looking around and it wasn't long before I was sent to see an endodontist. The endodontist was confident that I needed a root canal and a crown so he went straight to work - x-rays and drilling. Suddenly, he stopped, his face became solemn as he said, your tooth root is broken into. You'll have to get your tooth extracted. He put a patch on it, charged me a large sum of money and sent me on my way.
It wasn't long before I was in agony, and at this point, almost begging for someone to get rid of my tooth. Tears were streaming down my face uncontrollably as I tried to wait patiently for the extraction. As I faintly heard Adele playing in the background, I was clinching to the arms of the chair as the oral surgeon yanked my tooth out.
Once again I headed out of the oral surgeon's office writing another big check.
Once again I headed out of the oral surgeon's office writing another big check.
So today, my face is sore and swollen but hopefully on the mend. In just a few short months I'll have the opportunity to spend even more money on an implant, and a crown...yay!
I'm counting on the week getting better from this point forward. I'm focusing on thoughts of my future royal status as a queen once I get my crown.

Calendar Girls ~ February 2102
Continuing with my monthly sharing of new to me blogs. The first of February's picks is 'Words and Herbs, which is a blog "for all who appreciate the beauty of words, flowers and homecooking". Author Cathy originates from the UK and now lives in the beautiful region of Barvaria, in Germany. Cathy blogs regularly on a wide range of topics. Recent posts have included a fascinating article on the spice cardamon, which I must confess to not having used regularly. Maybe the recipe Cathy shares today for Banana Blueberry Cardamon Muffins might well tempt me to being more adventurous. I have also enjoyed her posts showing glimpses of the area that she lives in, her word of the day articles and the poems that Cathy features. As spring slowly arrives I am looking forward to getting to know Cathy's garden and plants better.
I discovered Surburban Veg Plot a while ago but still in the relatively recent past as far as my blog reading goes. This is the delightful blog home of Jules, a keen and enthusiastic organic vegetable, fruit and flower gardener. She also has keeps chickens. Recent posts have included the familiar dilemma of winter itchy fingers, the question of whether one of her chickens has laid a record breaking egg complete with photographic evidence and the most seasonal topic of chitting potatoes. What I enjoy most about Jules posts are the sense of humour and the imagination that comes shining through. Last autumn I was in stitches reading her Mr.Ted posts which featured the adventures of a bear who stayed with her for a week - all part of a project initiated by another blogger to raise funds for charity. More recently her post about the Valentines Day speed dating event arranged by the sedate RHS had me in giggles.
Do try and visit these lovely ladies!
Church in Mellösa Sweden
Some things are just better in black and white, it's like an unveiling of the heart and soul to lay bare the essentials of our emotions and reveal what lies within.
It is especially effective when photographing spiritual things like people and churches.
